Attacchi russi a Kiev: 5 morti, inclusa una bambina di 12 anni
At least five people, including a 12-year-old girl, have been killed in Kyiv following a massive Russian drone and missile strike overnight, according to officials. The attack, part of a renewed assault after a failed ceasefire, targeted residential areas, damaging over 50 buildings and disrupting the city's water supply. Rescue teams are working to recover survivors from collapsed structures, with at least 10 people still missing. President Volodomyr Zelensky reported over 670 drones and 56 missiles launched, marking one of the largest attacks since the war began in 2022.

The strikes, which also hit Kharkiv and Odesa, left dozens injured, including two children. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the discovery of three bodies in a damaged apartment building, while a 12-year-old girl's remains were found nearby. Over 1,500 rescuers are involved in the operation, moving debris and evacuating vehicles from the affected zones. Residents described the scene as chaotic, with some fleeing in shock after the sudden bombardment.

Zelensky condemned the attack, calling for international accountability and urging allies to maintain sanctions on Russia. He criticized the lack of a coordinated response, stating the strikes were not indicative of a war nearing its end. Meanwhile, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha linked the attack to the timing of a U.S.-China summit, arguing Russia's actions threaten global security. The assault coincided with Russia's Victory Day parade, which proceeded without incident despite fears of retaliation.

In a separate development, Ukraine's anti-corruption court ordered pretrial detention for former President Zelensky advisor Andriy Yermak, accused of money laundering in a £7.5m construction project. Yermak's lawyer denied the allegations, calling them baseless, while the defendant vowed to appeal the decision. The case highlights ongoing internal challenges in Kyiv as the city grapples with external threats.
